  • CHAPTER 3: The Laws of Vertical Jump Improvement. This is just a tabular summary of chapter 2.
  • CHAPTER 4: Diet, nutrition, recovery (11 pages, 10-minutes of video). Basic advice on rest, icing, protein and fluid intake, caloric balance, multi-vitamin, and glutamine and many more. This also covers the basic physiology of catabolism (muscle breakdown) and anabolism (muscle building).

  • CHAPTER 6: Use the Jumpers Forum! Another one-pager that just has links and encourages you to visit the Jumpers Forum. The forum updated when I write this post has over 3500 posts and discussions. Jacob starts a lot of threads, but he doesn’t seem to participate much in threads started by others. There’s nothing wrong way with this, but don’t wait for that you’re going to post a questions and have Jacob get right back to you. I assume that’s the role of the email support. Therefore, it’s principally a community forum and F.A.Q from Jacob. The forum software which he uses does not show how old posts are and it also does not allow to search by user hence it’s hard to make a sense of how active it is from a quick look.
  • CHAPTER 7: Pre-Workout Stretching and Warm-ups (six pages). Basic stretching advice. I’m a big fan of static stretching, however his research has shown that doing a lot of static stretching immediately pre-workout decreases power. Jacob has people doing general warm-ups and relatively brief stretching. That’s a good preparation plan, but I would put in some relax day or post-workout static stretching to hold the stretches for longer than just a few seconds do.
  • CHAPTER 8: Max Explosion Workout (11 pages, with thumbnail video demos of each exercise). This is the meat of it — the workout plans,  and all that are in here. Basically, it’s a set of exercises on a two-week cycle that you maintain repeating. The philosophy is low-rep schedule and  high-intensity training, precisely as we would wait for if we’re trying to get max muscle and explosion. Too many people think that they need to keep on working out more than normal. “More reps, more sets, more days”  is wrong  way to do and this program will help you keep away from that mindset.
